About Ravika Dead Weight Tester
Ravika DW 10 Series Dead Weight Pressure Gauge Tester
Range: Covers various models from low pressure (DW10: 0.12.5 kgf/cm) to high pressure (DW16: 1100 kgf/cm).
Accuracy: Typically 0.03% of reading for standard models.
Highlights: A robust primary standard popular in the Indian market; features a manually operated screw pump and steel free-piston assembly for smooth "floating" action.
Accuracy: Standard models offer 0.1%, with high-precision versions achieving 0.03% to 0.05%.
Operating Fluid: Standard multigrade hydraulic oil is used.
Weight Materials: Available in MS (Black Phosphated) or SS 304 for enhanced corrosion resistance.
2. Core Components
Each Ravika DWT includes a sturdy base plate with leveling screws, a hardened and lapped steel free piston assembly for "true floating" action, and a manual screw pump with a spoked handle for precise pressure adjustments. Standard accessories such as a weight storage box, spare seals, spirit level, and a tool kit are also included.
3. Operating Principle
Ravika DWTs operate based on the principle P = F/A. Calibrated weights are placed on a carrier atop a vertical piston. The screw pump increases oil pressure until it balances the downward force of the weights, causing the piston to "float" and indicate the pressure in the system, allowing for accurate gauge verification.
Technical Specifications by Model Series
Ravika offers several series of testers based on pressure range and features.
Basic Series (DW10DW16): These feature a large-capacity screw pump and a removable oil reservoir. Ranges vary from 0.12.5 kgf/cm (DW10) up to 1100 kgf/cm (DW16), with typical accuracy of 0.03% to 0.05% of the reading.
Mid-Range Series (DW20DW26): These include a lever-operated priming pump and a closed-circuit design for efficient air removal.
Dual-Range Series (DW30): This series offers both low- and high-pressure calibration with two free-piston assemblies, with accuracy options of 0.03%, 0.05%, or 0.1%.
Vacuum Gauge Tester (DT 55 / DT 56)
: These testers are designed for vacuum instrument calibration up to 760 mmHg vacuum, without the need for mercury manometers. They offer small steps of 0.02 kgf/cm or 10 mmHg.
Key Materials & Construction
Ravika testers are built for durability in industrial environments. The free piston assembly is made of special hardened and tempered steel. Weights are available in MS Phosphated black or Stainless Steel 304 and are marked with their pressure value. The base plate is sturdy with leveling screws. Standard connectors are 1/2" BSP (female), and adaptors are available. Multigrade hydraulic oil is typically used as the operating fluid.
Environmental & Operational Standards
Ravika testers operate in temperatures from -10C to 60C (14F to 140F). They conform to standards like ISO 376 and ASTM E74 for force calibration. Test certificates are traceable to national standards to meet ISO 9000 and QS 14000 requirements

Port Size : The port size of the KSB MIL 78000 control valve series is defined by its nominal pipe size, ranging from NPS 1/2 to NPS 6 (approx. 15 mm to 150 mm). Because this is a multistage control valve, the internal "port" refers to the area within the multistep axialflow trim designed to manage high pressure drops
